An iPhone with AirPods Pro and an Apple Watch

The iPhone Accessories Actually Worth Buying

Most iPhone accessories are clutter. A handful genuinely make daily life better. Our shortlist for Apple fans, and what to skip.

Walk through any mobile market in Lahore or Karachi and you’ll find a thousand iPhone accessories, most of them forgettable. If you love Apple products and want your phone to work better rather than just look busier, here’s what’s genuinely worth the money.

1. A proper USB C charger

Recent iPhones charge through USB C, and Apple no longer puts a power adapter in the box. A quality USB C Power Delivery charger of around 20 watts or more charges much faster than an old 5 watt cube. A compact GaN charger with two or three ports can handle your phone, AirPods and iPad together.

Skip: unbranded chargers with no safety certification. A bad charger can damage your battery, or worse.

2. MagSafe or Qi2 accessories

Magnetic charging and mounting is one of the best ideas Apple has had in years. A magnetic charging stand on your desk or bedside table, a car mount and a slim magnetic power bank make a real difference. Look for official MagSafe or Qi2 certified products for reliable magnets and faster wireless charging.

3. A case you actually like

A good case with raised edges around the camera and screen prevents most damage from everyday drops. If you use MagSafe accessories, make sure your case is MagSafe compatible, or the magnets won’t hold properly.

4. AirTag

Put one in your car, keys, luggage or laptop bag. It uses Apple’s Find My network to locate items, and it has saved many people from a lost bag at the airport. Note that Apple builds in alerts against unwanted tracking, which is a good thing.

5. AirPods

For iPhone users, AirPods remain the most seamless earbuds thanks to instant pairing, automatic switching between Apple devices and spatial audio. Choose the Pro models if you want active noise cancellation.

6. A screen protector (maybe)

Modern iPhone glass is tough, but a tempered glass protector is cheap insurance against scratches, especially if you keep your phone in a pocket with keys.

7. A longer, braided cable

The short cable from the box rarely reaches the sofa. A 2 metre braided USB C cable from a reputable brand is a small upgrade you’ll appreciate daily.

What to skip

  • Cheap wireless chargers that get hot and charge slowly.
  • “Battery saver” apps and gadgets.
  • Camera lens attachments that clip on. Your iPhone’s camera is already better.

The bottom line

A good charger, magnetic accessories, a sensible case and an AirTag cover almost everything. Spend on quality and you’ll buy each of them once.
